MUM
The areas of green roofing am indicated an the attached Green Roof Area Plan. Tate arra is comprised of
four sections having a total of 1,827 square feet. See the attached Exhibit entitled "LiveRoof Standard
System" by LiveRoof; LLC for a typical roof section and details. The building is structurally designed to
handle the load and water -proofing. The additional leads that the green roof places on the structure have
been added to the structural considerations and are Included in the structural calculations.
The LiveRoof, LLC product includ ing waterproofing membrane will be installed by Plormurce, Ltd., an
authorized California rooftop installer of the LiveRoof products. LiveRoof product installation includes a
special membrane which will be installed by Plorasource, Ltd., In coordination with the work of the
general and roofing contractors of the project.
LiveRoof Maintenance Requirements:
Maintenance of the green roof will be the responsibility of the project homeowner's association and
should follow the appropriate. LiveRoof maintenance protocol.
IRRIGATION: Per manufacturer's specifications, in northern North America, irrigation is not needed to
keep the green roof alive during some summers provided it is populated with Sedums and contains a
minimum of 4 !:" soil (LiveRoof Standard modules).
BIWEEKLY WEED WALKS: Twice monthly, conduct an inspection of the green roof system. Simply
pull any and all weeds; before they have a chance to flower and set seed. The goal is to catch them when
they are small and to prevent the development of a "seed bank" within the green roof.
DISPLACED SOIL: Nesting birds can displaco soil. Any displaced soil should immediately be replaced.
DRAIN INSPE=CTION: Roof drains should be inspocted every two weeks and any debris, pebbles, or
leaves should he removed to keep drains flowing freely.
PEST CON7ROU Occasionally pest insects such as aphids may show up and bother the plant material,
and while not commonplace, fungal problems like mildew occasionally affect green roof plants. Most pest
problems arc the result of an imbalance in the relationship of the pest organism and its natural biological
controls (beneficial insects like ladybugs and lacewings). Many pests and fungal infirmities (Ifke blight or
mildew) are usually triggered by unusual weather events that cause the pest to multiply faster than its
biological control, In lime, the biological control usually catches up and most pest and disease issues tend
to be temporary in nature. On the other hand, if persistent pest problems are detected, LiveRoof suggests
the use of organic and natural biological control agents instead of conventional pesticides. Conventional
Pesticides may con oil' into sensitive areas and might also damage roofing membranes. Consult a
professional prior to applying any biocantrol or pestor disease figbting agents.
WINTER MANTENANCE: In areas of warm climate; the plants will likely be dormant or semi -dormant
dining winter, but the wvccds will not be. Therefore,, continue biweekly "weed walks" and inspections, and
activate or adjust any watering schedule as needed for changing weather.
DRAINAGE: Since LiveRoof requires no irrigation, existing roof drainage will bo suffdentper the
LiveRoof manufacturer -
REV: 01-23-20 PR
AT1Y/AGR.2020.012Nalera Fooksman (Page 16 of 16)
