K. - Page 1 of 5 <br />/<�ik <br />Redwood <br />CitylCallifornia <br />Faunded 1867 <br />Ago/ <br />DATE: August 24, 2020 <br />SUBJECT <br />STAFF REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br />California Health and Safety Code Section 13146.4 Fire Department State mandated inspection <br />compliance reporting <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Adopt a resolution acknowledging receipt of the FY 2019-20 report of compliance with California Health <br />and Safety Code Section 13146.4 relating to fire inspections. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE <br />Public Safety <br />BACKGROUND <br />The California Health and Safety Code Section requires the Fire Department to inspect every school within <br />our jurisdiction annually. The California Health and Safety Code also requires the Fire Department to <br />inspect hotels, motels, lodging houses, and apartment houses annually. <br />Senate Bill 1205 requires the Fire Department to report annually to its governing body regarding <br />compliance with these inspection requirements.
