By motion, approve increasing the COVID-19 Emergency Assistance Program grant maximum from <br />$3,000 to $6,000, for City -funded grants; and <br />2. By motion, reallocate the unused portion of $100,000 in Community Development Block Grant <br />Coronavirus (CDBG-CV) funds previously set aside for in-home child care providers to provide rental <br />assistance to the broader pool of qualified applicants. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE <br />Housing <br />BACKGROUND <br />In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent shelter in place order, the City expanded its <br />existing rental assistance program, administered by Fair Oaks Community Center, in order to help low- <br />income households who experienced income loss due to COVID-19. Since March 2020, the program has <br />received over $2.6 million, of which over $1.6 million is from City funding sources. As of August 7, 2020, <br />the City had expended over $1.8 million.
