6.H. - Page 4 of 5
To date, the City has spent $6,600 of the $100,000 set aside. Note, an additional $2,850 was spent from
RCEF funds for one of the four in-home child care providers, as assistance was provided prior to the
$100,000 set aside being established. Given the lower-than-expected demand, staff recommends the City
Council remove the $100,000 set aside requirement and allow the remaining balance of funds to be used
to provide rental assistance to the broader pool of applicants. In-home child care providers would still be
allowed to apply for the program, however, they would be served on a first come, first serve basis like all
other applicants.
FISCAL IMPACT
The proposed modifications have no fiscal impact.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
This activity is not a project under California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) as defined in CEQA
Guidelines, section 15378, because it has no potential for resulting in either a direct or reasonably
foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment.
PUBLIC NOTICE
Public notification was achieved by posting the agenda, with the agenda items being listed, at least 72
hours prior to the meeting.
ALTERNATIVES
The City Council could choose not to approve one or all of the proposed modifications to the COVID-19
Emergency Assistance Program.
ATTACHMENTS
None.
AL .
City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.ore
92
