<br />02/25/2008 <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14845 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION VACATING A PORTION OF AN EASEMENT FOR <br />STREET PURPOSES AND A PORTION OF A STREET AT 2300 <br />MIDDLEFIELD ROAD (PARCEL A, PM 86-1) IN THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY PURSUANT TO SECTION 8334 OF THE <br />CALIFORNIA STREETS AND HIGHWAYS CODE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the owner of 2300 Middlefield Road (Parcel A, PM 86-1), <br /> <br />Costco Wholesale Corporation, a Washington corporation, successor by merger <br /> <br />to The Price Company, a certificate of articles of which merger was recorded in <br /> <br />the Official Records of San Mateo County on April 10, 2002, as Document No. <br /> <br />2002-069704, has requested that the City vacate a portion of an easement for <br /> <br />street purposes ("street easement") and a portion of a street on the property, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the portion of the street easement to be vacated is more <br /> <br />particularly depicted and described in Exhibit "A", attached hereto and by this <br /> <br />reference incorporated herein, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the portion of the street to be vacated is more particular <br /> <br />depicted and described in Exhibit "B", attached hereto and by this reference <br /> <br />incorporated herein, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the public convenience and necessity require the reservation <br /> <br />and exception of a public utility easement in that portion of the street to be <br /> <br />vacated as depicted and described in Exhibit "B". <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 8334 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State <br /> <br />of California allows a City to summarily vacate a street if a portion of that street <br /> <br />F:ATTY/RESO/Reso.1789 <br />021308 <br /> <br />14845 <br />Muff # 606 <br />
