4. INVOCATION — Pastor Matt Nightingale from the Peninsula Covenant Church gave the <br />invocation in place of the pastor from the Peninsula Christian <br />Church who was absent due to illness. <br />5. SPECIAL ORDERS: <br />Proclamation — City Manager Recognition <br />Assembly Member Ira Ruskin commended recently retired City Manager Everett for his <br />contributions to the City Council and to the community of Redwood City. He presented <br />a legislative resolution to Mr. Everett, on behalf of his, Senator Simitian's and Assembly <br />Member Mullin's offices. <br />Mayor Foust and the City Council stated their thanks and appreciation and read a <br />proclamation honoring former City Manager Everett on his many years of public service <br />and dedication. <br />Former City Manager Everett stated his thanks to the community of Redwood City, his <br />appreciation of the creativity and dedication of the staff, and the Council's leadership, <br />care and love for the community. <br />Council Member Pierce, on behalf of the Council, presented Mr. Everett with a glass <br />sculpture as a memento. <br />Proclamation — Fire Chief Recognition <br />Mayor Foust and the City Council stated that Fire Chief Kohlmann will be leaving the <br />City at the end of the year. They stated their thanks and appreciation and presented <br />him with a proclamation. <br />Fire Chief Kohlmann stated his appreciation and thanks to the community, the Council, <br />the department head team, and the Fire Department. He stated that he is proud to be <br />part of this organization. <br />6. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS AND CONSENT CALENDAR - CITY <br />COUNCIL /REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY BOARD <br />Matt Nightengale, Pastor of Arts and Music at the Peninsula Covenant Church, stated <br />that they will have a concert Saturday, December 22 at 7 p.m., featuring Tim <br />Zimmerman & the Kings Brass with a variety of both sacred and secular music. He <br />invited everyone to come enjoy the music and that the event benefit the Redwood City <br />Public Elementary schools at the same time.
