7. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />ADOPTION OF 2006 BUILDING CODES, WATER MAIN UPGRADE STANDARDS, AND FIRE <br />CODES: <br />A. Building Codes and Water Main Upgrade Ordinances <br />Building and Inspection Manager La Torra stated the recommendation before the <br />Council and gave the background. <br />The Council expressed its appreciation for the work done by staff, the Board of <br />Building Review, the green building requirements, and public input throughout the <br />process. <br />Keith Bautista, Chairman of the Board of Building Review, expressed his thanks to <br />the other members of the Board of Building Review and members of the community <br />for their participation. He stated his thanks and appreciation to Building and <br />Inspection Manager La Torra and to the staff of the Building and Inspection and <br />Fire Departments for their work. He asked the Council to approve the <br />recommendation before them. <br />Mayor Foust thanked Chairman Bautista and the other members of the Board of <br />Building Review, which included Mr. John Murphy who was present in the <br />audience. <br />M/S Pierce /Bain to: <br />1.
