Much appreciation for your willingness to <br />always listen. <br />From the last study session it is clear I believe we have a unique opportunity to move all of the projects forward and <br />create a real vision for your priorities of youth, housing and transportation. With each of the 10 projects brings a <br />unique opportunity for openspace/parks, childcare, family activities, family oriented retail, reduced rent retail, <br />bike/ped connectively, all of the projects have committed to reducing natural gas, some have moved to all electric <br />before you even voted on the reach codes. <br />But most importantly is the opportunity for more housing. We of course MUST focus on the state defined levels of <br />low income housing, Moderate, low and very low. But what is also important is to build housing that is affordable <br />to our working middle. So perhaps their individual or family income is just a speck too high for state defined <br />reduced rent, but the gap then jumps dramatically. So one if they wats you deal with this is supply and demand. <br />Create more housing opportunities for all. <br />The Sares Regis town homes may be attractive to aging seniors, they may wish to downsize, freeing up their home <br />for a young family, freeing up their apartment and so on. <br />With all of these projects moving forward, you really have an opportunity to drop a pin on the map and visually see <br />where housing will be built, what types, size, rent range and how that might free up other housing for the next gen. <br />Lastly, with our budget looking forward in the next 2-3 years it is tough not to be a bit relieved to sell a small <br />portion of land to the 1900 Broadway project at market rate and allow for a much better campus in that property for <br />the development and more importantly our community. The public space within this project is awesome. It will be a <br />key to our Main Street revival! <br />Thanks members of the council.
