She has
working knowledge of international renowned artists and Bay Area artists and more
importantly was invited by the commission to consult with us on a large-scale public art
steering committee for a new development with Greystar. Her voice on this committee has
highlighted her mosaic fabrication knowledge, her commitment to acknowledge RWC's history
and reflect the local community and her on-going dedication and contribution to the process
since February. Before I was a commissioner, she also helped me navigate a challenging art
contracting situation while I was creating my first public art installation. She has shown she
can collaborate directly with artists, take on the role of art administrator (processes,
evaluations, contracting, etc), and she is knowledgeable of artists both local and international.
This will help us immensely as we continue to cast a wide net for our call -to -artists (RFP, RFQ)
processes.
Ashley Quintana is a natural facilitator. She shows up consistently with a great attitude even in
challenging times, listens well, cares about the community, she's bi-lingual, and she
understands both the internal and social platforms to communicate our needs and host
events. We are like lightning which means we move ideas, procedures and projects forward
with Ashley. She cares about bringing art into Redwood City and making it a beautiful place to
live.
Right now, we have an all-star team of diverse and committed arts commissioners and I trust
you will invite more into this space to reflect our growing arts community.
Thank you all for the work you are doing to continue to make RWC a great place to live during
these challenging times.
Gratefully,
Erin
