Waive first reading and introduce Ordinance of the City of Redwood City <br />Adding Article XIV of Chapter 9 of the Redwood City Code to Adopt Local <br />Amendments to the 2019 Edition of the California Energy Code and Green <br />Building Standards Codes, Together with Certain Amendments, Exceptions, <br />Modifications and Additions Thereto; and <br />2. Set a public hearing on the adoption of these ordinances for September 21, <br />2020, commencing at 7:00 p.m. (or as soon thereafter as can be heard). <br />CEQA: <br />This is not a project under California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) <br />Motion and second, Bain and Hale to: <br />1. Waive first reading and introduce Ordinance of the City of Redwood City <br />Adding Article XIV of Chapter 9 of the Redwood City Code to Adopt Local <br />Amendments to the 2019 Edition of the California Energy Code and Green <br />Building Standards Codes, Together with Certain Amendments, Exceptions, <br />Modifications and Additions Thereto, with an amendment to the ordinance <br />regarding Exception 7 for Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) and Junior <br />Accessory Dwelling Units (JADUs); and <br />2. Set a public hearing on the adoption of these ordinances for September 21, <br />2020, commencing at 7:00 p.m. <br />The motion passes unanimously by roll call vote. <br />9. PUBLIC HEARING Page 619 <br />9.A. City Council call up to consider Planning Commission denial of an Architectural <br />Permit for a ground floor and second -story addition to an existing 2,054 <br />square foot one-story single-family home, for a total of 3,744 square feet at <br />1652 Carleton Court (613) Reso (0089) 15886 <br />Community Development and Transportation Director Mark Muenzer <br />introduced the item and Principal Planner Anna McGill gave a presentation. <br />Property owner of 1652 Carleton Place, Matt Lopez, spoke on the item. <br />Motion and second, Borgens and Reddy, to extend the meeting to 11:30 p.m., <br />passes 6-1 by roll call vote, with Council Member Bain dissenting. <br />Mayor Howard opened the Public Hearing.
