O R I G I N A L <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14488 <br />RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING CITY COUNCIL AUDIT COMMITTEE <br />12/16/02 <br />WHEREAS, there is a desire to bring greater City Council involvement into the <br />oversight of the City's finances; and <br />WHEREAS, such oversight would require a significant portion of the regular and <br />special meetings of the City Council; and <br />WHEREAS, by the establishment of a standing committee of the City Council, <br />such policy oversight could be performed in an expeditious manner; and <br />WHEREAS, the establishment of a City Council Audit Committee will facilitate the <br />decision - making process relating to the financial integrity of the City of Redwood City. <br />NOW, THERE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. City Council Audit Committee The City Council Audit Committee of the <br />City of Redwood City (hereinafter the "Committee "), consisting of no more than <br />three (3) members of the City Council, is hereby established. Said member(s) <br />shall be appointed by and at the discretion of the Mayor. <br />2. Meetings The Committee shall meet at such times as may be necessary. <br />All meetings shall be open to the public and governed by the provisions of the <br />Ralph M. Brown Act, Government Code Section 54950, et seq. <br />3. Staff Support The City's Finance Director shall serve as staff advisor to <br />the Committee, and shall provide such staff support and assistance as is <br />necessary or appropriate for the Committee to carry out its duties. <br />FAtty /Reso /Reso.1346 <br />120402 <br />
