<br />REPORT <br /> <br />6.18 <br />Page 1 <br /> <br /> <br />March 24,2008 <br /> <br />SUBJECT <br />Award of Contract - Lakeview Pump Station Improvements Project <br /> <br />RECOMMENDAnON <br />Approve, by motion, the Contract Documents and award the contract for the Lakeview <br />Pump Station Improvements Project to the lowest responsible bidder, Casey <br />Construction, Inc. of Emerald Hills, California, for their low bid of $546,158.00 and <br />authorize the City Manager to increase the contract amount, if necessary, up to 10% of <br />the amount awarded. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br />The Lakeview Pump Station is located within the lakeview Reservoir site near the <br />intersection of Lakeview Way and Woodland Way. The Lakeview Reservoir zone is one <br />of the largest in the City and services 625 homes within a one square mile area. The <br />lakeview Pump Station previously pumped water to storage tanks in the California zone <br />but has been idle since the demolition of those storage tanks in 1998. <br /> <br />The proposed improvements to the existing lakeview Pump Station will return the <br />facility to use. The rehabilitated pump station witt circulate water in the lakeview <br />reservoir to maintain water quality in the Lakeview reservoir.
