6.Q. - Page 2 of 45 <br />In FY 2019-20, the Fair Oaks Community Center's Information and Referral Program served: <br />• 2440 unduplicated household (6,799 individuals); a 43% increase over FY 2018-19 <br />• 821 unduplicated households (2,806 individuals) needing rental assistance; a 546% increase over <br />FY 2018-19 <br />• 790 unduplicated households (1365 individuals) needing homeless services (homeless and at <br />imminent risk of homelessness); a comparable number to FY 2018-19 <br />The City Council approved the original agreement between the San Mateo County Human Services Agency <br />and the City of Redwood City for Information and Referral Services provided at the Fair Oaks Community <br />Center for FY 2016-17, 2017-18, and 2018-19 at its regular Council meeting on November 28, 2016 and <br />Amendment No. 1 extending those services for FY 2019-20 and FY 2020-21 at its regular Council meeting <br />on June 10, 2019. <br />ANALYSIS <br />The County of San Mateo proposes to amend the existing agreement to provide funding to the City for <br />the cost of transportation services provided in FY 2019-20 and pay for additional transportation services <br />in FY 2020-21 through the end of December — primarily bus passes and bus tickets for homeless <br />individuals to access services. <br />In FY 2019-20, Fair Oaks Community Center provided 1915 Units of Transportation assistance (bus passes, <br />bus tickets, taxi rides). Provision of bus passes and bus tickets was suspended in April when SamTrans <br />stopped fee collection due to COVID19 health and safety concerns. <br />Fair Oaks Community Center resumed providing bus passes and bus tickets in mid-August when SamTrans <br />reinstated fee collection for all SamTrans routes. <br />Amendment No. 2 allows for reimbursement of transportation expenses from July 1, 2019 — December <br />30, 2020. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />The proposed amendment provides an additional $25,000 to the original agreement, not to exceed <br />$1,084,001.
