A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY DENYING THE INITIATION OF PROCEEDINGS TO AMEND THE GENERAL PLAN IN CONNECTION WITH THE PROJECT AT 901, 947, AND 999 EL CAMINO REAL AND 2529 BROADWAY WHEREAS, Kenson Ventures (the "Applicant") has submitted an application to construct a mixed-use office, residential, and teen center at 901, 947, and 999 EI Camino Real and 2529 Broadway (the "Project"); and WHEREAS, the Applicant seeks a General Plan Amendment to allow an increase in the maximum allowable development for office development and residential units in the Downtown (the "General Plan Amendment"); and WHEREAS, Redwood City Code Section 18.61 provides that the City Council may adopt a resolution of intention to initiate proceedings to amend the General Plan. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: 1. The recitals set forth above are true and correct and are hereby incorporated by this reference as if fully set forth in their entirety. 2. The City Council hereby denies the initiation of proceedings for the General Plan Amendment. 3. The City shall not accept reapplication of the same General Plan Amendment or a substantially similar General Plan Amendment within two years of the adoption of this resolution. This time limit will allow the City to continue to process long-range policy initiatives before deciding on the same or substantially similar General Plan Amendment requests on the same site. The Community Development and Transportation Director shall determine whether a proposed reapplication filed within those two years is substantially similar as the previously denied application. 4.
