A Lucas Device is a mechanical chest compression device that helps deliver high-quality
chest compressions to sudden cardiac arrest patients. The Department is participating in an exchange
program. When the Department originally went to Council staff planned to exchange six devices. Staff
now intend to exchange five devices. Also, the tax was not calculated correctly on the quote. As a result,
the total amount due for the purchase of the six Lucas Devices is $136,395.
ANALYSIS
The Department is requesting approval of the Amendment allowing for the purchase of six Lucas Devices
in an amount not to exceed $136,395. There is a $9,572 difference from the amount originally approved.
City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.ore
132
