V)rodamadofl <br />Honoring Susie Peyton <br />WHEREAS, volunteering of an individual's time and resources is an essential part of the <br />City of Redwood City's values; and <br />WHEREAS, it is even more evident that the City of Redwood City's greatest natural <br />resource is its people; and <br />WHEREAS, volunteers show every day through their actions that they truly care about <br />their communities and the people who live in them; and <br />WHEREAS, the voluntary sector is increasingly recognized as the third partner with <br />government and business in building strong communities; and <br />WHEREAS, Susie Peyton is a valuable champion of the community for her tireless effort <br />to make the City of Redwood City a great place to live, work and play; and <br />WHEREAS, Susie Peyton has given her time, talent, and energy as a member of the board <br />of the Redwood City Parks and Arts Foundation; in envisioning and leading the annual <br />4th of July Chalk Full of Fun chalk festival; in creatively supporting Picnic en Blanc and <br />the mosaic tile workshops for the Magical Bridge Playground mural; and in leading, <br />organizing and participating in endless art and event projects in the City of Redwood City; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT I, DIANE HOWARD, MAYOR OF <br />REDWOOD CITY, on behalf of the City Council and the residents of Redwood City, do <br />hereby honor and pay tribute to Susie Peyton, and proclaim her as a "Community Builder <br />& Volunteer Extraordinaire.
