Redwood City is situated on a fault line, has many major
apartment buildings, is home to multi-million dollar real estate, and this council thinks it is okay to ignore these
facts? How can we protect residents when fires require fast response in order to save people and property. What is
most surprising is that COVID-19 has taught us that the last thing we should do is ignore preparing for crisis, yet a
cut to the Redwood City fire department is doing exactly that. Budget cuts must be found elsewhere, not at the
expense of basic safety needs. It is shameful to even propose such a cut after the growth of Redwood City over the
last decade.
Sincerely, concerned native Redwood City citizen
Sent from my iPhone
