The club was <br />founded in 1909 in order to create a social outlet for the women of Redwood City, California, <br />and to give its members opportunities to engage in a wider scope of civic activities than they had <br />previously had. Their club building was built in 1911, is a fine example of the Craftsman style of <br />architecture, retains high integrity, and has served the club as its clubhouse continuously to the <br />present day. <br />The property name is: Redwood City Woman's Club <br />The property owner is: Redwood City Woman's Club, 149 Clinton Street, Redwood City, <br />California, 94062-1515 <br />This nomination is being submitted on behalf of the property owner.
