I am unable to call in for the city council zoom meeting on Monday, as I will be following the BRSSD board meeting that evening. In light of the comments requesting you all to show attentiveness during meetings by having cameras on, I urge you to observe or discuss board meeting processes at the next 2x2 so that you may adopt the practices of other local boards. As we've reached the orange tier, I'm not sure when city and council business will be able to accommodate members of the public to observe in person once again, as other businesses and recreation are doing. Related to the city and county communications, if I'm understanding the documents released in the agenda correctly, the city and the county have been in discussion about land and other options for collaboration since early July, if not sooner. It's fascinating that the city and county claimed the project home key proposal was rushed due to state timetables, but the minutes indicate that discussions have been happening all summer without sharing ideas or plans with the public until the last minute. Similar to the Bayshore proposal, the home key plans must have been initiated at least a month ago. If I'm not mistaken, application processes usually last at least a few weeks, and the preparation and plans for items such as these being pushed through take time to draft. Community outreach and discussion is more than warranted for such large investments and logistical challenges. Those in leadership positions need to provide ample notice and better information to all residents and neighbors. I ask the Redwood City council members and city manager's office to consider the same questions posed to the San Mateo County board members -- why has there been such insufficient community outreach?! What will it take for you to commit to making improvements in this area? The Redwood Shores Community Association has been in existence and highly active for 50 years. You know how to reach us (rsca.ora); you know that we are attentive and reactive to everything pertaining to 94065, and our neighbors in San Mateo, Belmont, San Carlos and the rest of Redwood City. As a member of there RSCA board, and Editor of a monthly publication which we invite you to regularly provide information in, I urge all leaders to make sure that lack of communication stops happening. I tried to request a broader map of the Bayshore proposal because it is unclear what area of the Shores will be viewing this construction? The message may have bounced, so please consider this a request for additional documentation related to the proposal. I would ask whether the Shores neighbors closest to that area have been specifically notified about the pending proposal? If not, please consider postponing this agenda item until ample notice and better information has been provided.
