From: Linda Kruger
To: GRP -City Council; Council -Diane Howard; Council -Shelly Masur; GRP -Planning Commissioners
Subject: Greystar Project to be Discussed Tonight
Date: Monday, November 9, 2020 1:10:00 PM
These projects have got to stop! You are not considering the people that have lived here for
decades. The condominiums and apartments that have been built, and those being proposed,
are selling or renting at exorbitant rates that are not accessible to the people that live here or
want to make Redwood City their home. Teachers, retail, restaurant employees and the like
are unable to afford these new places; they're being sold/rented to people who work outside of
Redwood City and commute - most by car. Furthermore, nothing has been done to the
infrastructure to account for all of these additional people: traffic is horrible, and yet you
continue to assume in your plans that people will stop driving. It's simply not happening and
you've already made this city unrecognizable.
As for additional business, why are we bringing more people into our city to work when so
many businesses have closed down and storefronts are empty? How can you consciously agree
to more construction??
It's very sad when those of us who have raised our children and grandchildren here would
rather live elsewhere because of the mass construction going on here.
Please stop this madness.
Sincerely,
Linda Kruger
