Waive second reading and adopt Ordinance Amending Article 59 of the Redwood City Zoning Ordinance <br />to allow Cannabis Storefront Retail; and <br />2. Waive second reading and adopt Ordinance Amending Chapter 32, Article V, Division 7 of the Redwood <br />City Municipal Code to Regulate Cannabis Storefront Retail and Update Operating Requirements for <br />Cannabis Businesses <br />STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE <br />Economic Vitality <br />BACKGROUND <br />On October 26, 2020, the City Council introduced an Ordinance amending Article 59 of the Redwood City <br />Zoning Ordinance to allow cannabis storefront retail and an Ordinance amending Chapter 32, Article V, <br />Division 7 to regulate cannabis storefront retail and update operating requirements for cannabis <br />businesses. The ordinance amendments are required for the City to establish Cannabis storefront retail <br />and operating requirements for such cannabis businesses. This program was developed through extensive <br />study and community engagement.
