S.A. - Page 156 of 302 <br />permit and are prohibited without first consulting with the appropriate local <br />building code enforcement agency and your property management company or <br />owners' association to ensure that the recycled water is not mixed with the <br />drinking water. <br />ii. Property management company, or owners' associations shall inform all new <br />condominium owners, lessees, and tenants that recycled water is used on the <br />property and/or within condominiums for the specific uses described in the <br />Recycled Water Engineering Report, and that any alterations or modifications <br />to the plumbing system require a permit issued by the City of Redwood City <br />prior to the commencement of any work. <br />o. Prior to connecting to the City's recycled water distribution system, the site must pass <br />a full shut -down cross connection test. This test must be performed by a Cross - <br />Connection Control Specialist certified through the CA -NV Section of the AWWA and <br />observed by Public Works staff. <br />i. Cross Connection Tests must be performed on all dual plumbed facilities, and <br />irrigation systems prior to the use of recycled water. The cross -connection <br />testing procedures must be approved by DDW and included in the <br />Engineering Report. <br />ii. For larger projects with multiple buildings and/or city metered connections a <br />phased cross -connection test plan shall be included in the Engineering <br />Report. <br />iii. Projects with dedicated potable water services supplying retail tenant <br />improvement areas which are not included in the Recycled Water Use Area <br />shall include these areas in the cross -connection test. <br />iv. Provisions must be made by the contractor to supply the on-site recycled <br />water plumbing system through a temporary metered source of potable <br />water. <br />p. A full shut -down cross connection testis required: <br />L Prior to occupancy <br />ii. Anytime there is a plumbing change to onsite potable and/or recycled water <br />systems, and <br />iii. Every four years in accordance with Title 22 regulations. <br />40. Discharge Permit for Subterranean Garages - If the subterranean garage requires groundwater <br />pumping into the sewer system, a Discharge fee will apply and a Discharge Permit will be required <br />by Silicon Valley Clean Water (SCVW) prior to issuance of each building permit where discharge will <br />be included. If groundwater pumping into the storm drain system, the project shall obtain an <br />Authorization to Discharge from the Water Board prior to issuance of each building permit where <br />discharge will be included. [SDR][ENGINEERING] <br />41. Backflow Protection—Backflow protection using reduced pressure backflow prevention assemblies <br />is required on all water services. The backflow preventer shall be above grade and located on private <br />property, accessible to the Public Works division for testing. [COA][ENGINEERING] <br />42. Fire Flow - The Project shall meet fire flow requirements as established by the Fire Department <br />which are based on the Fire Code.
