• Transit Accessibility — The proposed project is located within a half mile of the <br />Redwood City CalTrain station, and both residential and retail spaces will include bike <br />facilities. Additionally, Greystar has committed to improving bike pathways and offering <br />EV charging stations, increasing zero -emissions trips overall. <br />• Walkable and Green Community — This project expands green space and encourages <br />pedestrian use, with green pathways, 27 new crosswalks, an expanded dog park, and 4 <br />new parks and plazas. Greystar has also convened a Public Art Committee comprised <br />of community members to provide an engaging and enriched pedestrian experience. <br />• Sustainability — Residential spaces will be Green Point Certified, with electric <br />appliances in every unit, and office space will be built to LEED Silver standards. The <br />project also offers stormwater treatment, green roofs, energy efficient building design, <br />and landscaping designed to reduce the urban heat island effect. <br />• Economic & Community Benefits — Aside from providing new employment <br />opportunities with office and retail space, this project offers benefits for all of Redwood <br />City. The inclusion of childcare facilities addresses a key gap in community resources, <br />helping young families remain in the area. The project also repurposes the historic Feed <br />Shed as a restaurant surrounded by green space, giving new life to a legacy structure. <br />• Outreach — Greystar has diligently worked to encourage community collaboration, <br />hosting more than 40 meetings and events with various community groups and leaders. <br />They have gone above and beyond to collaborate with stakeholders for an inclusive <br />process, redesigning the project several times over to address community concerns and <br />city feedback. <br />This project is an opportunity to bring out the best in Redwood City. Development that <br />encourages sustainability and builds community is critical to protecting against displacement <br />and ensuring a thriving city. As civic leaders, you have a responsibility to encourage <br />sustainable and inclusive growth for future generations.
