Engineering Standards, City -approved project construction, specifications, <br />plans, and details, and other applicable procurement documents. <br />4.2.5 Specify and purchase recycled content traffic control products, including signs, <br />cones, parking stops, delineators, channelizers and barricades and only as <br />specifically listed and permitted by the Redwood City Engineering Standards, <br />City -approved project construction, specifications, plans, and details, and <br />other applicable procurement documents. <br />4.2.6 Ensure pre-printed recycled content papers intended for distribution that are <br />purchased or produced contain a statement that the paper is recycled content <br />and indicate the percentage of post -consumer recycled content. <br />4.3 Energy Efficient and Water Saving Products <br />4.3.1 Specify and purchase energy-efficient equipment with the most up-to-date <br />energy efficiency functions. This includes, but is not limited to, high efficiency <br />space heating systems and high efficiency space cooling equipment. <br />4.3.2 Replace inefficient interior lighting with energy-efficient equipment. <br />4.3.3 Replace inefficient exterior lighting, street lighting and traffic signal lights with <br />energy-efficient equipment. Minimize exterior lighting where possible to avoid <br />unnecessary lighting of architectural and landscape features while providing <br />adequate illumination for safety and accessibility per replacement program <br />master plan and as funding is available. <br />4.3.4 Specify and purchase U.S. EPA Energy Star certified products when available. <br />When Energy Star labels are not available, specify and purchase energy- <br />efficient products that are in the upper 25% of energy efficiency as designated <br />by the Federal Energy Management Program. <br />4.3.5 Specify and purchase U.S. EPA WaterSense labeled water -saving products <br />when available. This includes, but is not limited to, high-performance fixtures <br />like toilets, low -flow faucets and aerators, and upgraded irrigation systems. <br />4.4 Green Building Products and Practices <br />4.4.1 Consider Green Building practices for design, construction, and operation as <br />described in the LEED Rating Systems for all building and renovations <br />undertaken by the City of Redwood City. <br />4.4.2 Specify the use of all -electric building construction and equipment for all <br />building and renovations undertaken by the City of Redwood City as applicable <br />and to the extent possible as stated in City -approved project construction <br />specifications, plans and details, and other applicable procurement <br />documents. <br />4of17 1 1age <br />
