CAP Overview <br />Strategies and Focus <br />Energy & Water <br />This includes energy that is used in community and public facilities, as well as in water treatment and <br />transportation. This strategy addresses opportunities to reduce energy use, shift from natural gas to <br />electricity, and reduce water consumption. <br />Transportation <br />This includes public transit, commuting, and how we use land. Opportunities to reduce GHG emissions <br />include reducing the number of miles we drive alone in cars, and increasing housing near transit. <br />i..r Waste <br />This includes emissions from solid waste generation and disposal. The primary goal is to reduce <br />emissions by encouraging the community to reduce waste. The secondary goal is to divert it from the <br />landfill through recycling and composting. <br />Food &Consumption <br />This includes the goods and services we buy from outside San Mateo County.
