<br />8A <br />Page 18 <br /> <br />Please contact the Latino Caucus for additional information at (916) 669-1343 or <br />CaILatinoCaucus@aol.com. <br /> <br />FEMA Requests Comments on Disaster Assistance Regulations <br /> <br />City officials are encouraged to respond to the Federal Emergency Management Agency's <br />(FEMA) request for comments on several proposed notices concerning disaster assistance <br />regulations. Comments are due within 30 days of the date the notice was Issued, which are <br />available on the individual notice. Three of the notices were issued March 25 and comments are <br />due April 24. <br /> <br />Proposed policy changes include: <br /> <br />. FEMA's authority to fund repairs to certain levees and other flood control works; <br /> <br />. Disaster Assistance Policy DAP9524.4, Repair vs. Replacement of a Facility under 44 <br />CFR ~206.226(f) (The 50 Percent Rule); <br /> <br />. Criteria that a PNP facility must meet to qualify as an eligible PNP Museum; <br /> <br />. Guidance for determining the eligibility of the replacement of animals that may be <br />considered "equipment and furnishings: associated with disaster-damaged eligible public <br />or private nonprofit (PNP) facilities; and <br /> <br />. Guidance in determining the eligibility of damage and extraordinary maintenance to <br />applicant-owned equipment performing emergency work under severe conditions. <br /> <br />The National League of Cities (NLC) has posted FEMA's notices on its Web site. <br />htto:llwww.nlc.orq/tooicsllndex.asDx?SectionID=Dublic safety.
