01/25/2021 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 15932 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY 1) ACCEPTING A U.S. WATER QUALITY IMPROVEMENT FUND <br />AWARD OF $200,000 FROM THE UNITED STATES ENVIRONMENTAL <br />PROTECTION AGENCY VIA THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO; 2) <br />ACCEPTING A GRANT AWARD OF $913,333 FROM THE CALIFORNIA <br />NATURAL RESOURCES AGENCY; 3) AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE GRANT AGREEMENTS AND RELATED <br />CONTRACT DOCUMENTS; AND 4) INCREASING THE CAPITAL <br />OUTLAY FUND REVENUE AND EXPENDITURE BUDGETS BY <br />$1,113,333 <br />WHEREAS, on June 11, 2019, the County of San Mateo was awarded $500,000 <br />from the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) US Water Quality <br />Improvement Fund, with $200,000 of said funds identified to be provided to the City of <br />Redwood City (City); and <br />WHEREAS, on August 24, 2020, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 15878 <br />approving an application for grant funds from the California Natural Resources Agency <br />(Agency) in the amount of $913,333 for the Regional Stormwater Capture Project at <br />Red Morton Park (Regional Project); and <br />WHEREAS, on June 24, 2019, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 15780 <br />approving the Green Infrastructure (GI) Plan intended to reduce pollution in stormwater <br />flowing to the San Francisco Bay, and which anticipated the Regional Project; and <br />WHEREAS, the above mentioned <br />development of conceptual plans and <br />documentation for the Regional Project; and <br />funds are intended to be used for the <br />California Environmental Quality Act <br />WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept the grant awards from the EPA <br />and the Agency, authorize the City Manager to execute the grant agreements and <br />related contract documents, and transfer funding in order to facilitate construction of the <br />Regional Project. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. The City hereby accepts the US Water Quality Improvement Fund Award <br />of $200,000 from the County of San Mateo and authorizes the City Manager or <br />designee to execute the grant agreement and related contract documents. <br />2.
