From:
Cody Conde
To:
GRPLV Counal
Suhjac
SequoPmje
i.a
Date:
..'Station
c r...., Fehmary 6, 20217:,49 45 FM
Ar
CAUTION: This email originated from outside your organization. Exercise caution when
opening attachments or clicking links, especially from unknown senders.
Redwood City Council,
As a resident who lives right next to this proposed project I am concerned about a few
things:
1) Loss of shops like Safeway and PetfoodExpress as well as the loss of the food
establishments.
2) This project includes an enormous amount of office space this will cause demand on
housing nearby to skyrocket. This project should have as much housing as office occupants
it should be either housing neutral (not add to the housing problem) or housing positive (have
more housing units than office occupants, adding to the total housing stock).
3) Traffic and congestion along El Camino, Jefferson and 84. It seems this project with its
massive amount of office space would cause a traffic nightmare in this area this is another
reason why I believe the project needs to be housing neutral or housing positive. More people
could live closer to their offices that are being built here which would reduce the need for
them to commute. Already due to traffic along El Camino, residents in nearby apartment
buildings find it difficult to open their windows for fresh an due to pollution and an quality.
4) Retail needs to be built into the ground floors we need a large grocery store to be built in
this project to serve the needs of the new residents of this development as well as the many
other nearby residents in the neighborhood we cannot lose another grocery store like
Safeway.
It's concerning that they want to build so much office space at a time when commercial real
estate prices and demand have plummeted. While we expect that to change in the coming
years, many companies have shifted to remote work and will likely downsize their offices to
smaller, more -flexible spaces. We need more housing than anything and we shouldn't add
office space which will contribute to a housing problem that is already so dire.
Best,
Cody M Goodermote - Resident of Redwood City
Cody M. Goodermote
San Francisco, CA
