Redwood City Council Members, In light of this evening's continued Sequoia Station Study Session, we wanted to summarize the request submitted in by letter on January 25th by MidPen Housing and Tishman Speyer. In order to deliver the community benefits of the Gatekeeper projects in a timely way, we ask that you: • Keep the Gatekeeper projects moving as expected so the affiliated affordable housing and community benefits are delivered as soon as possible. • Follow through on the expectation, set by the City in Fall 2020, that Gatekeeper projects would have a 15-18 months environmental review timeline. Gatekeeper projects have made investments in anticipation of this timeline, including in land for affordable housing. • Not bundle Gatekeeper projects with Sequoia Station for CEQA review as this will essentially double the environmental review timeline and delay the delivery of housing. • Use all tools available to the City to expedite the approval and delivery of the housing components of the Gatekeeper projects, including the use of new state streamlining tools. We appreciate the thought the Council has put into the Gatekeeper process and look forward to working with Council and Staff to move these projects forward.
