<br />FLOOD FIGHTING METHODS 2003 <br /> <br />6.3A <br />Page 47 <br /> <br />Wooden Panels <br /> <br />Many tools and materials are used in flood control efforts. <br />A very versatile material is the wooden panel (see Figure <br />13). Wooden panels can be used for wavewash protection, <br />lumber and sack toppings, and mud boxes. Wooden <br />panels should be prefabricated and can be easily <br />transported to the work site. The panels are generally 3 <br />feet high with a minimum length of 12 feet. They are made <br />of 1" x 12" X 12' boards The boards are nailed to 1" X 4" x <br />3' slats at 6-foot intervals.
