<br />> ORIGINAL <br /> <br />AGREEMENT FOR SERVICES <br />Moore lacofano Goltsman, Inc. <br /> <br />THIS AGREEMENl is made and entered into as of the 30 fat day of <br />, 20~ by and between the REDWOOD CITY REDEVELOPMENT <br />AGE , a public body, corporate and politic, duly organized and existing under the laws of <br />the Sta e of California ("Agency"), and Moore lacofano Goltsman, Inc., a California <br />corporation ("MIG" or "Consultant") (collectively, the "Parties"). <br /> <br /> <br />RECITALS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Local Investment in Child Care (L1NCC) Project, a group of non-profit <br />and public agency partners that works to build the infrastructure that supports child-care <br />facilities development, renovation and expansion by linking economic development and <br />child-care, applied for a $25,000 "venture grant" offered by Smart Start (Kellogg Foundation) <br />and was granted $15,000 for a project related to child-care facilities in transit-oriented <br />development (TOO). <br /> <br />WHEREAS, L1NCC has received a proposal totaling $20,000 from MIG to produce <br />the L1NCC "Child Care at TODs" brochure targeted at TOO developers ("Project"). <br /> <br />WHEREAS, L1NCC has accepted MIG's proposal and entered into a contract with <br />MIG for the Project. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, L1NCC has only $15,000 to fund the Project, and has committed the <br />$15,000 towards payment for MIG's services to produce the Project. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, MIG is amenable to entering into an agreement with the Agency, <br />whereby the Agency makes a payment of $5,000 of to MIG to provide the services necessary <br />to produce the Project <br /> <br />WHEREAS, L1NCC has requested that the Agency contribute $5,000 to this Project <br />that will support future planning for child care in Redwood City adjacent to transit facilities. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Agency's efforts to promote and develop transit-linked child care <br />facilities would benefit from and be informed by the research and analysis set forth in the <br />Project brochure. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Agency requires the professional services of an urban planning services <br />firm that is experienced in researching, analyzing, writing, developing, and designing an <br />informational brochure that communicates the elements of successful transit-linked child <br />care centers to transportation oriented developers. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Consultant has the necessary experience in providing these professional <br />services, the Agency has reviewed the proposal provided to L1NCC, and the Consultant has <br />affirmed its willingness and ability to perform such work. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of these recitals and the mutual covenants <br />contained herein, the Parties agree as follows: <br /> <br />ATTY/AGR/2008.022 <br />033108 <br /> <br />1 <br />
