The recycied water is <br /> provided by the South Bayside System Authority (SBSA), af which the City is a rnember. <br /> The purpose of the Recycled Water Use Ordinance is to ensure the maximum public <br /> benefit from the use of the City's recycted water suppiy by estabiishing a recycied water <br /> service area, and requirements for both required and voluntary use within the service <br /> area. It is the policy of tt�e City that recycled water shall be used for nanpotable uses <br /> wherever its use is economically justified,financially and technically feasible, and <br /> consister�t with legaf requirements and the preservation of the public health, safety and <br /> welfare, and the environment. <br /> WHAT DOES TNE �RDINANCE INCLUDE? <br /> The ordinance wilt inciude the foltowing sections: <br /> • Findings, purpose, and wa#er recycting policy <br /> • De�initions <br /> + Reference to#ederal and state regulations and permits goveming the use anci <br /> distribution of recycled water <br /> • Description and map of recycied water service area to be enacted <br /> • The service area map can be revised via companion resolutions in the future <br /> • Requirements for required use of recycled water <br /> • Requirements for voluntary use of recycled water <br /> • Recycled water permit process <br /> • Reference to the Recycled Water Users Guide, which will be develaped <br /> separa#ely by the City <br /> • Sanetions and enforcement <br /> F4R WHAT USES WILL RECYCLED WATER BE REQUIRED? <br /> The draft ardinance states that recycled water will be required#or the following uses: <br /> • Exisfing and remodeted commercial and industrial buildings: <br /> o E�ctemaf landscaping <br /> , • New comme�cial, industrial, institutional and governmental projects: <br /> o Internal separate plumbing of water closets, u�inals, trap primers <br /> o intemal caoling towers anti evaparative coolers <br /> o Extema! lanciscaping <br /> • New apartrnents and condaminiums <br />
