("PSC") of <br /> Benecia to provide ctosed circuit television ("CCN') inspection services of Sanitary <br /> Sewec Basin Plo. 2 and the Downtawn Precise Plan Area for an amount not to exceed <br /> $940,832.90 and authorize the City Manager to increase#he contract amount up to 10°!0 <br /> if necessary. <br /> BACKGROUNO <br /> The City annually replaces or repairs aging and defrcient sections of main sanitary <br /> sewer lines. CCN inspections of the pipe interior are regularly conducted prior to this <br /> annual project. Sections for repair and replacement are systematically identified using <br /> criteria tha# include condition o#pipe, age of pipe, capacity limitations, and frequency of <br /> service disrupfion. The praposed agreement will provide data required to assess the <br /> conditior� of the sani#ary sewers prior to the annual rep�acemenUrepair project. <br /> PSC responded to a Request #or Proposal that was circulated to four campanies that <br /> provide CCTV inspection services. PSC's proposa! was evaluated and selected based <br /> on their qual�cations, responsiveness, and experience. <br /> PSC wiil conduct a closed-circuit television inspection of the sanitary sewer mains in <br /> two areas identified below. <br /> 1. Sanitary Sewar Basin No. 2 bordered by Edgewood Road, Cordilleras Road, Oak <br /> Knol( Drive, Hopkins Avenue, Turnsworth Avenue, Whippie Avenue and EI Camino <br /> Real. This area was selected as a continuation af the CCN inspectian conducted in <br /> 2006 for Sanitary Sewer Basin No.1. <br /> 2. Downtown Precise Plan Area bordered by Mapfe Street, Ve#erans Boulevard, <br /> Brewster Avenue and EI Camino Real. This area was selected due to#he anticipated <br /> need for pipe condition information resulting from future downtown development. <br /> PSC wi(! clean the sanitary sewer mair�s and inspect the pipeiines using cameras to <br /> record visua! data that wil# be used by staff to assess the condition of each sewer main. <br /> Staff wil! receive da#a inciuding inspection logs, full streaming videos, and observation <br /> codes which ctassity the condition of the pipe segment. The data will be used to identify <br /> sections of the sewer main in need of repair ar replacement as part of the annual Sewer <br /> Replacement Pro}ec#. <br /> ALTERNATIVES <br /> Council may choose not to enter the proposed agreement with PSC and direct staff to <br /> intenriew other qualified �irms. <br />
