<br />6.2A <br />Page 2 of 10 <br /> <br />Currently, the City has such an agreement with MuniServices, LLC, a consulting firm that <br />helps the City analyze retail sales leakage and performance 1, with the purpose of <br />generating unrealized sales/use tax income for the City. The firm also performs audits to <br />detect misallocations of the City's share of sales and use taxes. That existing agreement <br />and relationship has worked very well. MuniServices already has collected the sales tax <br />data from the State Board of Equalization (but for a different purpose). Upon approval of <br />the attached Resolution and Agreement, MuniServices will provide the sales tax <br />information to the authorized City representative who will then in turn provide it to Strategic <br />Economics provided all necessary confidentiality provisions are in place with Strategic <br />Economics. <br /> <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />Not allow Strategic Economics to have access to the sales tax data and thereby jeopardize <br />the economic analysis for the New General Plan. <br /> <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />None.
