<br />REPORT <br /> <br />7A <br />Page 1 <br /> <br /> <br />July 21,2008 <br /> <br />SUBJECT <br />Staff Draft of Counter Measure to Proposed Initiative Measure Amending the Charter of <br />Redwood City - San Francisco Bay Front and City Park Land <br />No Action Required <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br />At the July 7, 2008 meeting, City Council heard testimony from the public with respect to <br />the proposed initiative measure, which would amend the City Charter to require two- <br />thirds voter approval for a change in the uses of certain designated lands within the <br />City. The City Council then directed the City Attorney to prepare a counter measure to <br />the proposed initiative measure and make the same available to the public on July 17, <br />2008. The City Council further directed that the counter measure be placed on the July <br />21,2008 agenda for discussion purposes only. <br /> <br />Pursuant to the City Council's direction, this is an information item only and the City <br />Council may provide further direction to staff.
