In the SRS design, each area is interpreted through hands-on educational
exhibits with explanatory graphic rails and panels exciting visitors to learn about
resident wildlife and biological concepts such as food webs, camouflage and physical
adaptations.

SRS was selected to design the Interpretive Center by a team comprised of Library and
Marine Science Institute staff after on-site comparisons of many existing environmental
centers in the Bay Area and southern California. As the designers I fabricators of
Elkhom Slough Reserve Visitor Center and the new San Francisco Bay Model
interpretive graphics, SRS stood out as the most qualified to bring the high quality,
creative product we sought for our Library.

On April 24, 2008 the California State Coastal Conservancy approved a $150,000 grant
award for the Redwood Shores Library Interpretive Center based on the SRS design.
These grant funds, approved by resolution of the Redwood City City Council on May 19,
will provide funding for over half the cost of the $277,000 Interpretive Center. The
Moore Family Foundation has since awarded an additional grant of $25,000. The
remaining $102,000 will be funded from the approved Redwood Shores Library project
fund, with continued fundraising to reimburse the balance.

The Redwood Shores Library is now under construction. The scope of work for SRS
include fabrication and installation of the Interpretive Center, to be undertaken
immediately to enable the faciiity to be complete by opening day, September 6, 2008.
