Manufactured Stormwater Treatment Measure Maintenance Plan for
Costco Wholesale - Redwood City

April 4, 2008

Manufactured Stormwater Treatment Measures are PROPRIETARY treatment devices that tend to
be installed below ground and operate using some type of proprietary filter media, hydrodynamic
separation, or sedimentation and screening. Common examples of manufactured treatment
measures include manufactured media filters, inlet filters or drain inserts, oil/water separators and
hydrodynamic separators. In August 2004, the Regional Water Board's Executive Office wrote a
letter stating that a project relying on inlet filters or oil/water separators as the sole treatment
measure would be unlikely to meet the maximum extent practicable standard of the National
Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Permit. See the Countywide C.3 Technical Guidance
(www.flowstobav.orq) for more information.

Project Address: _2300 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA

Assessor's Parcel No.:

053-390-010 and -020

Property Owner:
Designated Contact:
Mailing Address:

Costco Wholesale
Ed Navarro

Phone No.: (425) 313-8100
Phone No.: (425) 313-8100

999 Lake Drive. Routine Maintenance Activities
The principal maintenance objective is to prevent sediment buildup and clogging, which
reduces pollutant removal efficiency and may lead to failure of the manufactured treatment
measure. Routine maintenance activities, and the frequency at which they will be
conducted, are shown in Table 1.

Table 1
Routine Maintenance Activities for Manufactured Treatment Measures
No. Maintenance Task Frequency of Task
1 Inspect for standing water, sediment, trash and debris.
