<br />7A <br />Attachment C-l Page 15 <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1: That pursuant to Article XI of the Constitution and Title 4, <br />Division 2, Chapter 3 of the Government Code and Division, Chapter 3, Article 3 <br />(commencing at section 9255) of the Elections Code of the State of California, <br />there is called and ordered to be held to in the City of Redwood City, California, <br />on Tuesday, November 4, 2008, a Special Municipal Election for the purpose of <br />submitting the following two proposed charter amendments: <br /> <br />1. "The Voter Approval Requirement Regarding Future Development of <br />Cargill Lands, (the Majority Vote Amendment"), Charter Amendment": <br /> <br />"Shall a Charter Amendment requiring majority voter approval for <br />future land uses other than agriculture, public parks, certain extractions <br />from San Francisco Bay, or restored wetlands on Cargill Lands, <br />approximately 1,450 acres east of Highway 101 and south of Seaport <br />Boulevard, be adopted?" <br /> <br />2. "A City Charter Amendment Requiring Two-Thirds Vote of the City <br />Voters to Change the General Plan Designation or Zoning Ordinance <br />Uses for Certain Lands in the City", (the Two-Thirds Vote <br />Amendment")": <br /> <br />"Shall a Charter Amendment requiring two-thirds voter approval of <br />future land uses other than agriculture, public parks, certain extractions <br />from San Francisco Bay, or restored wetlands in areas of the City <br />designated as "Park': "Unimproved Areas (Land or Water)': "Future <br />Development Expanding Limits of Urbanization': "Controlled <br />Waterways (Redwood Shores Area)': or "San Francisco Bay Water" in <br />the General Plan or designated as "Tidal Plain" or "Redwood Shores <br />Bay Front" in the Zoning Code, be adopted?" <br /> <br />SECTION 2. The full text of the proposed "Majority Vote Amendment" <br />charter amendment to be submitted to the voters is attached hereto as Exhibit <br />"A-1 thru A-5". The full text of the proposed "Two-Thirds Vote Approval" charter <br />amendment to be submitted to the voters is attached hereto as Exhibit "B-1 thru <br />B-9". <br /> <br />SECTION 3. The City Council directs the City Clerk to transmit a copy of <br />the proposed Charter amendments to the City Attorney.
