<br />6.1A <br />Page 21 <br /> <br />Each member shall be eligible to receive reimbursement, not to exceed six <br />hundred fifty dollars ($650.00) each fiscal year, provided that the course of <br />instruction, workshop or seminar is approved in advance of enrollment by the <br />Police Chief and the Human Resources Director, and the member must <br />successfully complete each course submitted for reimbursement with a grade <br />of "C" or better, or a passing grade in a pass/fail course, or with receipt of a <br />certificate of completion or letter certifying the awarding of C. E. U. units. <br /> <br />All members shall be eligible to receive reimbursement, not to exceed three <br />hundred dollars ($300.00) of the maximum six hundred fifty dollar ($650.00) <br />tuition reimbursement fiscal year entitlement, for the purchase of reference <br />materials listed in the core reference material appendix to this M.O.U. <br /> <br />The Human Resources Director and the Police Chief may establish standards <br />and criteria and enact such rules, regulations, procedures and policies as are <br />necessary or appropriate to implement the provisions of this Section. <br /> <br />7.19 Lateral Recruitment Incentive Award <br /> <br />Any POA Member who recruits a lateral candidate who is hired will receive five <br />hundred dollars when the lateral hire successfully passes the FTO program. <br />The Police Training Manager will not be eligible for this award. <br /> <br />Recruit defined: When a POA Member independently contacts a Lateral Peace <br />Officer and persuades him/her to apply to, and subsequently is hired by this <br />agency. This incentive does not apply to a POA Member who assists a Lateral <br />Peace Officer in the hiring process after that Lateral Peace Officer has already <br />contacted the Department in regards to being hired. <br /> <br />SECTION 8. WORK WEEK AND WORK PERIOD <br /> <br />8.1 Re~ular Workweek and Work period <br /> <br />The regular workweek for unit members occupying full-time positions in the <br />Police Department shall consist of forty (40) hours. The regular work period <br />shall be twenty-eight (28) days. <br /> <br />8.2 4/10 and 3/12Y2 Schedules <br /> <br />8.2.1 All unit members shall be placed on either a four (4) day, ten (10) <br />hours per day weekly schedule, or a three (3) day, twelve and one- <br />half (12Yz) hours per day weekly schedule. <br /> <br />8.2.2 In the event of an emergency or periods of significant staffing <br />shortages, the City reserves the right to place unit members on a five <br />(5) day, eight (8) hours per day weekly schedule, in which event the <br />association shall be notified as far in advance as reasonably possibLe <br />under the circumstances. <br /> <br />15 <br />
