<br />6.1A <br />Page 31 <br /> <br />the applicable MOU or City practice in effect at the time of <br />retirement. <br /> <br />Section 10.1.7 shall be interpreted to include prior service as a <br />Redwood City Police Officer in meeting the eligibility requirement for <br />retiree medical coverage when a Redwood City Police Officer retires <br />from the City. <br /> <br />If the original separation from service is due to layoff, layoff <br />provisions of the MOU would govern reinstatement and treatment of <br />prior service for the duration of layoff separation as outlined in the <br />current MOU. <br /> <br />10.1.8 All costs incurred by the City to maintain the Group Health Benefits <br />Plan in compliance with Government Code Section 22751, et. seq., <br />and all costs incurred by the City to maintain the Cafeteria Plan in <br />compliance with IRS Code Section 125, shall be paid from the <br />aforementioned monthly dollar caps identified in Sections 10.1.4, and <br />10.1.5. Such costs include, but are not limited to, premiums, <br />surcharges, and/or administrative fees. <br /> <br />10.1.9 In the event there are any costs not charged to the City due to delays <br />by the Group Health Plan Administrator and/or other administrative <br />agencies in calculating or reporting these costs, said costs shall be <br />carried over and charged as administrative costs to the following plan <br />year and deducted from the aforementioned monthly dollar caps <br />accordingly. <br /> <br />10.1.10 An employee who is receiving a disability retirement due to a work <br />related illness or injury, shall receive paid medical benefits provided <br />that the following conditions are met: <br /> <br />A. The employee is not eligible for benefits under 10.1.7; and, <br /> <br />B. The employee is not eligible for similar benefits through a <br />spouse's health plan. <br /> <br />Whenever the above eligibility criteria are met, the City will provide <br />medical benefits at the same benefit tier (single, two-party, family) <br />which the employee would have been receiving if he/she had <br />continued as an active employee. <br /> <br />10.1.11 For employees who leave the City in good standing, for reasons other <br />than retirement, who are not eligible for benefits as provided in <br />Section 10.1.7 or 10.1.10, and who have twenty (20) years of service <br />with the City of Redwood City, the maximum City contribution toward <br />health plan coverage shall be equal to the percent of premium paid <br />for a current employee, for the same plan, for the period September <br />1, 2008 through August 31,2011, provided that the following <br />conditions are met: <br /> <br />25 <br />
