<br />RE: Reopener on Retiree Medical Contribution
<br />
<br />Dear Greg:
<br />
<br />In follow-up to our successful negotiations process, I want to confirm our agreement
<br />regarding the City's retiree medical contribution. During the term of the new
<br />Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that is to go into effect on September 1,
<br />2008, the City would like to meet and confer with the POA regarding alternative plan
<br />designs and contributions to the retiree medical program for current employees
<br />and/or future hires. The City recognizes that the retiree medical benefit currently
<br />offered to association members per section 10.1.7 of the new MOU cannot be
<br />changed, modified or altered without mutual consent and agreement of both parties.
<br />During the term of the MOU, the City would like the ability to discuss alternate plan
<br />designs and contributions with the POA. Please indicate your agreement to this
<br />reopener by signing and dating below.
<br />
