REP.OI\T August 25, 2008 SUBJECT Annexation of 711 Esther Lane, Assessor's Parcel Numbers 058-245-020 and 058-244- 030, to the Oak Knoll Sewer Maintenance District RECOMMENDATION Adopt a resolution approving the sewer annexation of 711 Esther Lane, APN 058-245- 020 and APN 058-244-030, to the Oak Knoll Sewer Maintenance District subject to the following conditions. 1. The property owner pays a sewer connection fee of $550.00 per connection to the City. 2. The property owner agrees to consent to future annexation ofthe property to the City. BACKGROUND Pursuant to the Redwood City/Oak Knoll Sewer Maintenance District Agreement dated March 18, 1958, the County of San Mateo and the property oWW1er of 711 Esther Lane, APN 058-245-020 and APN 058-244-030 (location map attached), has requested permission from the City to annex this property to the Oak Knoll Sewer Maintenance District. Property and property owner information is as follows. Name Dolly Cool Assessor's Parcel No. 058-245-020, 058-244-030 The application was submitted by San Mateo County, and has been reviewed by the City's Engineering and Construction Division. The purpose of this application is to secure sanitary sewer service from the Oak Knoll Sewer Maintenance District for the identified property. The sewer capacity necessary to service this property is provided as part of a total County allocation of .5 million gallons/day pursuant to the Emerald Lake Heights Capacity Agreement between the County of San Mateo and the City of Redwood City dated August 19,1980. AL TERNA nVES Council may choose not to approve the sewer annexation, which would be contrary to public policy, and prevent the development of sanitary sewer facilities for the property. FISCAL IMPACT There is no fiscal impact to the City as the County of San Mateo Department of Public Works is responsible for maintenance of this and other services in unincorporated areas.
