San
Mateo County is currently processing an application to re-subdivide 720 Paradise Way
into two parcels for the purpose of constructing a new single family home on Parcel A.
The property is located outside the city's jurisdictional boundaries, but within the city's
water service area and sphere of ,influence. The city has provided water service to the
existing residence on Parcel B since 1979. Further development of Parcel A requires a
new water connection and service from-the City. Approval of the proposed subdivision
requires the property owner to replace the existing 2-inch watermain with an B-inch
watermain. The property owner has recently applied to the city for the permit to allow
this work.

Staff recommends that the city request LAFCo approval to extend water service outside
jurisdictional boundaries to Parcel A (APN 068-162-400) of 720 Paradise Way pursuant
to Government Code Section 56133. LAFCo requires Council approval, by resolution,
of requests that the city makes to LAFCo for extensions of service. The proposed water
service extension will provide water connection and service to the newly subdivided lot
located at 720 Paradise Way. Extension of service is subject to the following conditions
and fees.
1. LAFCo approval of the application for the proposed extension of water service;
2. Property owner's payment of the city's water service annexation fees when request
is made for service extension;
3. Property owner's payment of LAFCo fees;
4. Property owner's payment of all expenses related to processing, constructing, and
connecting the proposed 8-inch watermain;
5. Payment of all applicable city fees, including connection fees, and construction costs
associated with providing proposed water service extension.

Payment of annexation and connection fees was made on July 24, 200B
