<br />78 <br />ATTAcHMEN-Rage 8 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY TO <br />APPROVE THE SOUTH BAYSIDE WASTE MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY <br />(SBWMA) COLLECTION SERVICES REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP) <br />BOARD RECOMMENDATION TO SELECT NORCAL WASTE SYSTEMS OF <br />SAN MATEO COUNTY FOR BOTH THE NORTH AND SOUTH DISTRICTS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the South Bayside Waste Management Authority ("SBWMA") is a joint <br /> <br />powers authority between the cities of Belmont, Burlingame, East Palo Alto, Foster City, Menlo <br /> <br />Park, Redwood City, San Carlos, and San Mateo; the towns of Atherton and Hillsborough; the <br /> <br />West Bay Sanitary District; and, the County of San Mateo ("Member Agencies"); and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on October 26,2006, the SBWMA Board submitted the Collection Services <br /> <br />Request for Proposals (RFP) recommendations to the Member Agencies regarding future <br /> <br />services, contract terms and competitive proposal guidelines for the SBWMA Collection <br /> <br />Services RFP process; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on September 26, 2006, the City Council of the City of Redwood City <br /> <br />("City") voted affirmatively to approve the SBWMA Board recommendations to the Member <br /> <br />Agencies regarding future services, contract terms and competitive proposal guidelines for <br /> <br />the SBWMA Collection Services RFP process and committing to participate in the SBWMA <br /> <br />Collection Services RFP process; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on September 10, 2007, the City adopted Resolution No. 14808 <br /> <br />approving the August 2, 2007 SBWMA Collection Services RFP scope of services and <br /> <br />contract terms; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the SBWMA issued the Collection Services Request for Proposals (RFP) <br /> <br />on November 1, 2007 soliciting proposals for the collection of solid waste, recyclable <br /> <br />materials, and organic materials within the jurisdiction of the SBWMA; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on March 11, 2008, the SBWMA received proposals from four (4) <br /> <br />A TTY IRESO/RESO. 1852 <br />082608 <br /> <br />1 <br />
