5. SPECIAL ORDERS: <br /> Prior to presenting the proclamations, Mayor Foust, explained how these proclamations <br /> represent the richness of this community. <br /> A. Proctamation: Operation Access, Bridging the Healthcare Gap, Kaiser <br /> Permanente— Dr. Jim O'Donnell, Physician in Chief and <br /> Stacey Wagner, Director of Public Affairs. <br /> The two recipients thanked the Council for recognizing this project. They provided <br /> examples of the benefits of Operation Access, and how it assists those who are in <br /> need of inedical assistance and may not be able to pay for it. <br /> B. Proclamation: Historic Preservation Month - Kenneth Rolandelli, <br /> Chairperson, Historic Resources Advisory Committee. <br /> Mayor Foust read the proclamation proclaiming May as Historic Preservation Month <br /> in Redwood City. <br /> Mr. Rolandelli thanked the Council for this honor and made various announcements <br /> about upcoming events. He also thanked the businesses and community members <br /> that support these efforts. Mayor Foust announced that various schools are now <br /> teaching the history of Redwood City and how various Council Members are <br /> participating in these efforts. She specifically mentioned North Star third graders <br /> and encouraged two Council Members (Hartnett and Ira) to share their knowledge <br /> and history of Redwood City with the students. <br /> C. Proclamation: Fair Housing - Marjorie A. Rocha, Executive Director, Eden <br /> Council for Hope & Opportunity (ECHO) Housing and <br /> Susan Sheftel, Department of Fair Employment and <br /> Housing (DFEH) Representative. <br /> Marjorie Rocha and Susan Sheftel received the proclamation and thanked the <br /> Council and the community. They stated that ECHO Housing received the <br /> Governor's proclamation of the year. Mayor Foust recognized multiple members of <br /> the Housing and Human Concerns Committee who were present in the audience. <br /> 6.
