Introduce Ordinance amending Redwood City Code — Section 38.5 —Water <br /> Basic Service Charge. <br /> ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 38.5 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br /> REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO WATER SERVICE CHARGES AND FEES (First <br /> reading April 28, 2008). Minute Order 08-068 <br /> 2. Adopt a resolution amendir�g Section 3 of the Rules and Regulations of the <br /> Redwood Crty Water Department (Public Works Services Department) <br /> related to water rates. <br /> RESOLUTION No. 14860 AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THE RULES AND <br /> REGULATIONS OF THE REDWOOD CITY WATER DEPARTMENT (PUBLIC <br /> WORKS SERVICES DEPARTMENT) RELATING TO WATER RATES; AND <br /> RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 14794 <br /> Justin Ezell, Public Works Water Superintendent, explained the actions before Council <br /> and the finro components of the water bill residents receive (presentation on file). He <br /> explained that as of today 30 protests were received. The concept of a lifeline rate was <br /> explained by Mr. Ezell. One Council Member inquired about the restaurants downtown <br /> and what staff is doing to assist them in saving water and apply for rebates. Mr. Ezefl <br /> provided details of what is being done and available to commercial properties. <br /> Mayor Foust opened the public hearing. <br /> Tia Knuedle commented that her house has poor water pressure. Ms. Knuedle stated <br /> that it is hard to pay more when the pressure is so low. The water pressure issue has <br /> been a long standing probtem for her residence and she would like to see a solution. <br /> Mayor Foust thanked Ms. Knuedle for her comments and will pass the information on to <br /> the Public Works Department. <br /> M/S Howard/Pierce to close the public hearing.
