<br />6.2A <br />Page 1 <br /> <br />REPORT <br /> <br /> <br />October 27, 2008 <br /> <br />SUBJECT <br />Final Acceptance - Master Water Meter Replacement Project <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Accept, by motion, the Master Water Meter Replacement Project, and authorize the <br />release of bonds and retention according to city procedures. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br />On May 12, 2008, the Council awarded the construction contract for the Master Water <br />Meter Replacement Project to West Valley Construction, Inc. of San Jose. The contract <br />was awarded for a base bid of $285,000.00. The project is successfully completed in <br />accordance with the plans and specifications. No change orders were issued. The final <br />contract amount is as awarded. <br /> <br />Four water meters that were outdated and no longer serviceable were replaced. The <br />meters are part of the public distribution system, owned and maintained by the City, <br />and service Oracle and Peninsula Landing. The work of this project consisted of <br />replacing existing water meters and appurtenances with the addition of backflow <br />prevention devices where needed. Pavement and landscaping that had been disturbed <br />as a result of the work were restored.
