ORAL COMMUNICATIONS AND CONSENT <br />COUNCIUREDEVELOPMENT AGENCY BOARD <br /> <br />CALENDAR <br /> <br />CITY <br /> <br />Public Comment <br />Alan Bydgnes spoke on the Elwood/Sequoia Union situation and he posed questions <br />regarding building permits, grade problems, and what he called the overall fragility of this <br />area. <br /> <br />Mayor Foust offered to take the speakers notes to the appropriate City Department since this <br />was not an agenda item, and offered that City Manager Ingram would be in touch. <br /> <br />Susan Swope shared her pride in the Redwood City 4th of July downtown celebration. She <br />said that of all those present had a great time. She said that when she went to see the <br />fireworks it was all cleaned up and she gave kudos to those behind the organization. <br /> <br />Mayor Foust thanked everyone involved in the 4th of July celebration including those who <br />organized the parade. <br /> <br />Michael Grove (with three minutes conceded to him) acknowledged the City, the Council and <br />the successful 4th of July Celebration. He also spoke on the Elwood/Sequoia parking project <br />and gave an overview of what happened in the past week. He shared concerns and offered a <br />possible model for the project and a summary of actions needed in his opinion. <br /> <br />Mike Gabitass spoke on the Elwood/Sequoia High School parking project, the safety issues of <br />the project with the increased traffic flow concerns, and the wish that residents in the area be <br />part of the process. He commented that the construction has already begun. <br /> <br />Lea Cuniberti-Duran spoke on the Elwood/Sequoia High School project and on the dangers <br />she sees due to traffic in the area. She cited speed concerns, mailboxes being hit and other <br />hit-and-runs on the street, which might increase with more traffic coming through the area. <br /> <br />Jason Culverhouse spoke on the Elwood/Sequoia project sharing safety concerns and asked <br />for more public notice. He requested more active participation of the members of the <br />community with regard to the project and the need for impact studies. <br /> <br />Lynne ledanois spoke on the Elwood/Sequoia High School parking project sharing safety <br />concerns for the children in the area and also the elderly. She asked for the City's help in <br />ensuring this safety and that everyone work together for a safe outcome in the matter. <br /> <br />Mayor Foust stated that this was not the first time speakers have come to Council with this <br />matter and asked City Manager Ingram and City Attorney Yamamoto for more information on <br />the project and to look into the jurisdictional issues involved. <br /> <br />JOINT CITY COUNCIUREDEVELOPMENT AGENCY BOARD <br />MEETING MINUTES <br /> <br />JULY 7,2008 <br />PAGE 2 <br />
