<br />EXHIBIT A <br /> <br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE OF THE BAY AREA <br />IMMIGRATION AND CITIZENSHIP PROGRAM IN SAN MATEO COUNTY <br />FISCAL YEAR 2008-2009 <br /> <br />CONTRACT OBJECTIVES <br /> <br />Quantifiable Goals to be Provided With <br />Requested Funds <br />To increase 1,000 immigrant families' stability by <br />assisting them to reunite their family, obtain work <br />authorization or become a naturalized U.S Citizen, <br />based on their eligibility as established by US. laws. <br /> <br />To expand access for 4,000 families to accurate <br />information regarding immigration law and <br />procedures and thus increase their abilities to make <br />educated decisions regarding their options, rights <br />and responsibilities. <br />To increase community awareness regarding the <br />special challenges faced by newcomers. <br /> <br />Performance Indicators (how you will measure the <br />quantifiable goal) <br />1,000 families will receive assistance, as measured by <br />caseworker intake records Success in obtaining <br />appropriate documentation will be measured by the <br />positive response of the U.S. Citizenship and <br />Immigration Service (USCIS) <br />Increased family stability will be measured by client <br />surveys, indicating improved access to housing, <br />education, employment and civic engagement <br />opportunities. Specifically, in the first quarter of FY 08- <br />09, each adult client that obtained work authorization <br />and/or residency during the past 6 months will be <br />surveyed to determine if s/he has obtained a new or <br />improved job or other significant quality of life gain as a <br />result. <br />Measured by the number of people participating in our <br />information sessions and consultations per client sign-in <br />records, as well as client surveys. <br /> <br />Conduct at least 15 workshops on issues of importance <br />to the Redwood City community, such as changes in <br />immigration law, civic participation, citizen rights and <br />responsibilities. Participants will include service <br />providers, educators and community leaders who seek <br />to better understand their clients' immigration status, <br />procedures and circumstances. <br /> <br /># of Unduplicated RWC Residents/Households to be Assisted (Only programs serving individuals may <br />report by individuals.
