(FLY) <br />FISCAL YEAR 2008/2009 <br /> <br />CONTRACT OBJECTIVES <br /> <br />Quantifiable Goals to be Provided With Performance Indicators (how you will measure <br />Requested Funds the quantifiable ~oal) <br />80% of the youth will report that knowing about <br />the consequences of crime helps them deal with See Explanation Below <br />problems and conflicts in a better or more <br />peaceful way. <br />80% of the youth will report that learning about the <br />law helps them plan ahead and gives them more See Explanation Below <br />control over the things that happen to them. <br />80% of the youth will report that knowing about <br />the law gives them more confidence to deal with See Explanation Below <br />bad peer pressure and can help them get out of <br />dangerous situations. <br />80% of the youth will report that they viewed the See Explanation Below <br />Program facilitators as positive adult role models. <br />80% of the youth will report that because of the See Explanation Below <br />Program they are less likely to break the law. <br /> <br />Performance Indicator Explanation: <br />FL Y uses positive role models, role playing and intensive participation methods to ensure its <br />achievement of the outcomes listed above. In fact, in its eight-year history, FLY has met and <br />often exceeded its outcomes 100% of the time. In addition to its performance being evaluated <br />by independent evaluators, FLY worked with a professional evaluator to design a Likert-scaled <br />survey instrument to measure the Program's impact on a given youth's risk factors, resiliency, <br />knowledge, development of internal and external assets, and overall behavior. FLY staff read <br />the survey out loud to the youth to accommodate different learning styles and literacy levels. <br />FL Y collects this data at the close of each Law Course (twice a year). <br /> <br /># of Unduplicated RWC Residents/Households to be Assisted (Only programs serving <br />individuals may report by individuals. All others should report by households) <br />5 incorporated Redwood City at-risk resident youth will participate in the Law Course <br /> <br />200 incorporated Redwood City at-risk resident youth to receive the Middle School Prevention <br />component <br />
